Boone County Projects:
2019 Home Repairs
Heart of Iowa Habitat for Humanity is offering critical home repairs across Boone COunty in 2019 through the Helping Hands program.
As many as 10 homes are anticipated to be repaired by Habitat volunteers.
Some repairs will be performed using local contractors through a partnership with the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture's Rural Development program. Income-qualified homeowners can qualify for up to $8,500 in grants, if age 62 and over, or up to $20,000 in loans for home repair and improvement. Loan interest rates are often as low as 1%, with affordable payments spread over 20 years.
The Helping Hands home repair program has served dozens of families across Greene and Guthrie Counties since its introduction in 2012 and the Habitat volunteers of Boone County look forward to addressing this critical need in communities across the count in 2019
